Chetco Library and Friends of the Chetco Library will present "Hand Loom Weaving with Jane Opiat". Local weaver Jane Opiat will discuss the techniques and materials she uses in her handwoven textiles. She will also give a demonstration on the hand loom. Jane took a weaving class sixteen years ago and "fell in love with fiber". She uses the colors she finds in nature in our local area as inspiration for the colors and designs she incorporates in her unique, wearable art pieces. This program begins at 3:00pm in the large meeting room. Admission is free.

One of the most unique, scenic, wilderness relay courses in the United States – relay race runners will trace the wild Rogue River through the Cascade Mountains to the wild Oregon coast over this 218 mile course. The Wild Rogue Relay consists of 12 person or 6 person ultra teams that rotate through 36 transition areas. Each relay team member runs 3 legs of varying lengths and difficulty and will cover an average total distance of 18-20 miles. We will begin the 218 mile relay race just outside of Jacksonville, Oregon on the shore of Applegate Lake, and it will end at the beautiful Azalea Park in Brookings, Oregon. Bring your 12 or 6 person team to Southern Oregon for this overnight relay race.

Nectar of Life coffee is sold through Semi-Aquatic gifts, Wildwood, and served at First Rise Bakery, and Cosmic Grind Espresso and Eats in the Harbor. This month, they are also being featured at Umpqua Bank in Brookings.
