What is this?
Join us for a spring wildflower hike to the beautiful Signal Buttes Area in the hills behind Gold Beach, proposed as the Veva Stansell Botanical Area, co-led by botanist Teresa Bird and KAS outreach coordinator Sunny Capper. This hike is moderate in difficulty and will include a trip to the Signal Buttes summit, with fabulous 360-degree views. You’ll learn about the unique serpentine botany of our region and enjoy spring wild flowers along the way. Total length of hike is 4.25 miles with 840 feet elevation gain. Wear hiking shoes, sun protection, bring lunch, and plenty of water. Be prepared for the weather. Heavy rain will cancel. It takes about 45 minutes to get to the trailhead from Gold Beach. Meet up at the Gold Beach Visitor Center, south of town, at 9am sharp to caravan and carpool. The road is gravel.
PLEASE RSVP! For more information and to sign up, please contact Sunny Capper: sunny dot j dot capper at g mail dot com
